Kristopher Orr is one of my favorite photographers because his images look like his images and not anyone else’s. And also because he shoots some very cool people and subjects. These photos Kristopher did for Siege Audio in Salt Lake City. They hired him to “shoot the talent” and Kristopher got do four mini shoots of a rapper, a d.j., a snowboarder, and a skateboarder. That sounds like so very much fun.
Let’s lead off with the snowboarder — Jeremy Jones — shot in Milo Sport in Orem, Utah,
Then the rapper –Concise Kilgore- shot in an alley in Salt Lake City,
Next is the skateboarder — Jon Kooley — shot at Sugar House in Salt Lake,
And finally the D.J.– DJ Hot Noise — shot in a basement in Salt Lake City.
All color shot on contax 645 with Fuji 400h, and black and white is my fav Kodak bwcn 400 shot on a Nikon F100. All developed and scanned by Kristopher himself.

And the winner of the Instax camera is Misty Smith with this amazing photo. Thank you everyone who entered.. there were so many really great photos I wish I had more cameras to give away.
what i love. really love. is that they are real. they are the people. not contrived. not staged. just how they are. i think when you stay true to your subjects. you can’t stage anything. and then your photos look like your photos. and not anyone elses. because every family. every couple. every individual is different. and what comes out is true to your artistic expression and the people you have photographed. these are amazing photos.
Awww thank you guys so much!!! That photo is near and dear to my heart because it was one of my best friends homecomings so knowing them made it even more personal.
I love Kristopher Orr’s photos and the fact that he developed it all himself makes me love it even more!
