LETS GET DIRTY | John Schnack Photography

Do you guys watch Modern Family?! Remember the episode when they get their family portrait taken and the break into a full blown mud fight? Photographer, John Schnack sent us this AWESOME family session where his clients wanted to recreate their favorite show for their holiday card.

John said, “The images were shot at a large property in San Diego.  The property sits on a flood plain, so there’s a small creek that dissects the property.  As the family was tiring of throwing mud at each other, the family dog jumped into the creek.  The dog is fairly old so he had trouble getting out of the creek, so the dad kneeled over to pull the dog out.  As he did, his wife pushed him in the creek, which is pretty cold right now.  He jumped out and proceeded to track down his wife, picking her up and throwing her in the creek for payback.”

Oh my gosh, I LOVE these!! What an amazing photo shoot!! This family will love these images forever. GREAT work!!

  • Dressing all in white can sometimes be cheesy, but when it works – it’s the best! I love these, especially the lake ones. A great way to break the ice and get some family photos taken. The portraits at the beginning are lovely as well.

“We love water but at the moment, we don’t aparecipte it or respect it?” So why are we all going to continue taking 20 minute showers after we read either book?AnswerPeople never know how good they have it until they are forced to do without. Every American citizen can fully expect to go home and turn on their faucet and have fresh clean water flow out, but if one day that flow were to stop crisis would strike. Because constant water service in America is so inexpensive and considered the societal norm, people do not value or respect it. This results in abuse of our nation’s water resources because of poor management, pollution, and wastefulness. People will continue to use water in a care free manner as long as they think it has no value, and continue to live in a society that gives them the illusion that water supply and access are virtually unlimited. American society has created a system that has allowed people to take water access for granted, and until citizens begin to value and respect it they will continue to abuse it. Americans will not begin to alter their water usage habits until they begin to place a greater value upon it either initiated by a price increase in service, or until shortage in supply directly affects them.
