Sharon is a Seattle based film photographer specializing in family and birth story photography. This is what she had to say about herself and her work:
“I was fired from my first photography job.
I couldn’t be more grateful to my past boss for giving me to boot. You see, I worked for one of those horrible corporate drone photography studios and was told that everything in my day should be about “the money” shot. The problem was, I didn’t care about the “money shot”, what I cared about was connection. And connection doesn’t sell an extra print to pad my commission during a four-minute shoot with a screaming two-year-old plopped on a terrible backdrop with cheesy props.
Shooting in clients homes and with film, allows me to capture and express intense emotions. It is a means of connection with my clients, and it is the conduit by which I share my truest sense of the world with others. I offer custom and compelling photography for folks looking to preserve the emotion, detail, and love in their lives.
I create more than just pictures of families. I create artwork that enlightens and brings joy to my clients and their homes.
When I’m not out shooting, you’ll find me reading and marking up my favorite novel, in the kitchen concocting some strange and fabulous meal, or playing hide and seek or tickle monster around the house with my 2 favorites. ”
