“A great way to get in touch and to start giving back is to select a foundation or cause that is close to your heart. I rang and made an appointment to see my local branch of the Child Cancer Foundation – they set up an interview and organised Police checks. I then had to organise to have a mentor who I could ring and touch base with after each shoot. So I had that support – as alot of what you are seeing is hard and there alot of pain and grief and you become very close to some of your families as I spent alot of time with them documenting some of their most private moments in the final stages of their journey. I did this all for free – and that is something you need to decide on as well.
It is an incredible opportunity to give back .
