From Audra Wrisley:
For me, photographing families is especially rewarding when I can capture the unique personalities, relationships and moments that happen at home. I find that everyone is more relaxed doing a session in the comfort of their own 4 walls, and even more so when the family happens to be in pajamas! This sweet mom had the best idea of capturing them in the early morning hours, when their little one, Bruce, had just woken up. Of course, I absolutely loved this idea and couldn’t wait to start the day off with PJs and cuddles! Bruce has the happiest disposition of any one year old I’ve met, and he was equally as excited to show me around his stunning nursery. It’s amazing custom vaulted ceiling provided the perfect amount of light for a few fun photos, and I love the calming grays, blues and rustic wood accents in the decor.
After some snuggles with Mom and Dad and lots of playtime, we ventured down to their light-filled living area while Bruce got out some of his favorite toys to play with: a drum from the family’s travels, blocks and books. I was in heaven photographing these sweet moments between Mom, Dad and baby on a quiet morning at home. In the age of Pinterest and themed birthday parties, lots of props for photo shoots, I find that the simplest images are often the most timeless. I can’t imagine commemorating Bruce’s 1 year milestone in a better way, and I feel so lucky to have been able to capture these memories for such a wonderful family!
