A Florida Adventure – Hannah Mayo

I’m a bit obsessed with these playful images from Florida photographer Hannah Mayo! The bright colors, city/beach combo and sassy little ones just made me smile.

From Hannah: I had the opportunity to photograph my good friend and fellow photographer Elise and her family while they were visiting South Florida. These five are so awesome and full of fun and energy. We had such a blast during their session!

Film At 11 – Carrie Geddie

I’m absolutely terrible at following through with projects and scheduled posts, so I couldn’t be more impressed (or in love) with Carrie Geddie‘s new monthly personal project. Make sure to follow along on her film adventures!

From Carrie: Winter in the Outer Banks of North Carolina is truly magical.  I love taking my boys to dig in the sand, walk to the fishing pier, look for sea shells, and just run around the empty beaches.  I recently started a personal project called Film at 11 to encourage me to shoot more film and break the digital habit.  The only rules are that I shoot film in the prior month and blog it on the 11th – subject, film stock, number of photos – it’s all flexible.  On the afternoon I shot these images, I brought only my 35mm camera and one roll of Kodak Ektar 100 with me to the beach.  And I could not be more in love with the results…  Processed beautifully by Indie Film Lab.

Camera:  Canon Elan 7E & 50mm 1.4 lens
Film:  Kodak Ektar 100
Location: Nags Head, North Carolina

Happy Mother’s Day — Series of My Kid

For mother’s day, I gave myself a present. I went through all my old hard drives and albums. And I found my favorites of my children and put them all in my computer in one folder.

Whew.

Well actually it wasn’t that hard, because it turns out my favorites are only film shots and I didn’t start shooting film until my third child was born, so there were only a few from way back when I wanted to dig up.

But inspired by John Dolan‘s Olivia gallery and watching his daughter grow in photos, I can do the same for my kids.

This is for my son Nalu who is my oldest and is almost 17.

Its not fair… life never is, but his younger brother Noa (who just turned 5) will have the best portfolio of his growing up.

AND who won last week?  Well thanks for entering and its was Tim Massie who took away the prize.
