This pretty senior session is photographed by Ingrid Damiani. Ingrid has a great philosophy on photographing seniors and the photographs show she knows what she is doing.
“This is Amelia. I first photographed her when she was 15 as part of a family session. We met at the family beach house to capture some natural family moments as the family was saying goodbye to their grandfather, Guy, who was dying from bone cancer. Amelia is now 18, and graduating from high school. She and her mother asked me to do a senior collection for her. One of the challenges for me in a senior session is creating images that are true and real; I want the teenager to feel absolutely beautiful in their photographs, but not because I’ve staged them in unnatural fashion or glamor poses. My goal is to spend quality time with them, to create an environment where they become very comfortable with me and the camera so that the resulting photographs ring true to who they are. I am so proud of these images because I feel like they capture the essence of Amelia–her complexity–young, yet incredibly strong; playful but entering adulthood. I love knowing my clients and photographing them over a period of years. I love how they share themselves with me. I hope they can see how powerful and beautiful they are.”
Pretty girl, pretty session. We can’t argue with that.
