Nothing screams “Let the Kids” more than Summer! Summer is when memories are made with bike rides, lemonade stands, sun burns, not wearing shoes for days (or clothes in Lusi’s case), and camp outs in the back yard. Adventure and love occur in Summer, and we just can’t get enough of it.
Last week marked the official start of Summer and after receiving yesterday’s and tomorrow’s great submissions, I decided we needed our own method of shooting the spectacular summer here at Let the Kids.
So I got to thinking, what if we took just ONE photo from every great thing we did this summer and then at the end of the Summer compiled an awesome album or collage of the 30 or so awesome shots of every event and moment we experienced? And how great would it be if we could get more people, from all over, to participate it the exact same thing we were doing? We could compile a huge and ultimate documentation of Summer!!! It would be pretty and absolutely great!
Introducing the Summer Shot List! If you don’t already have a summer photo project in place, I challenge YOU to take at least ONE great photo of the small, the big, the perfect and crazy Summer moments in your life from now until the dreaded day that school starts.

How to Participate?
1- Commit to the list! Whether you shoot the entire thing or half, or come up with your own list, let us know and comment below! (Doing so enters you to win a $25 gift card from Mpix.com!)
2- Blog, on your personal or business blog, as often you would like the images you capture on your Summer Shot List.
3- Come back here every other Friday to see who’s participating in the List and to add your name to the list if you have! Every other Friday we’ll not only link to ALL of those who blogged their images on their personal blog within those 2 weeks, but we’ll feature one person who’s images screamed summer and spoke to our summer souls!
4- Proudly display the badge! Copy the html text below the image and paste onto your blog or weekly post to let everyone know you are contributing to the Ultimate documentation of Summer!

This is just the reminder I needed to see. Such a fleeting time, childhood. I too often use my phone instead of my SLR and I want to be better about slowing down to really capture the whole thing, not just one or two frames! Thanks for such a great idea!
