I became a photographer unintentionally. I worked at a boarding school for two years after college, and part of my job was photographing the girls in my dorm so that their parents could keep up with their activities. I am a bit of a perfectionist; I knew I could be better. So I worked hard at it. I’ve been working hard at it ever since.
I am a photographer because I believe great portraiture is art. I believe families are worth celebrating. I photograph kids because I love them. I look into their eyes and see what makes them unique and imagine who they will become. I photograph weddings because I love helping people- because it’s two families coming together to celebrate the creation of a new family. My work is sentimental, joyful, romantic, playful, and celebratory because I value these emotions and their moments.
