So, a few months back, my sweet friend Yan was traveling through Texas, and shot a session for me and my family while she was here. We decided that it would only be fitting to have our family photos taken out on our land west of Fort Worth…..I was BLOWN AWAY with my images from my session. Of course I have to share them here. But guess what? I also get to share a pretty amazing announcement….
Yan is going to be teaching a workshop, called get back, one in Byron Bay, Australia (April 23-25) and one in Dallas, Texas (June 25-27). (Our property will be one of the Dallas shooting locations!!) Let the Kids is SO excited to announce that we are giving away one seat to each workshop!
Yan combines this infectious energy and joy along with know-how and VISION into her shooting style, and it is an amazing thing to witness. Her workshop is undoubtedly going to be an incredible experience.
Here’s what you need to do to put your name in the hat:
1) Make a short video (one minute or less) explaining why you should win the seat.
2) Post the video somewhere online – Facebook or your blog will both work.
3) Link the video in a comment on this post.
4) And of course, go “Like” Let the Kids and Yan on Facebook.
The contest will close on Wednesday at midnight Texas time, and the winner for each will be announced next Friday February 8th right here on our blog.
Full details for the workshops can be found on Yan’s blog, but a few things the workshop will cover:
-strategic portfolio building to grow your business
-Yan’s approach to shooting lifestyle sessions in client’s homes
-film shooting basics (although the workshop is for both film and digital photographers)
-online presence/brand
-developing your strengths as an artist based on why you became an artist/photographer in the first place, hence the name of the workshop-

also wanted to add in my video in my reasoning for coming to the realization of life is to short.. i was so wrapped up into my business and putting that first when i was busy and than i took a step back and trying to redirect my focus with myself, my children/family.. reconnecting to what is in important and life is short to miss the everyday real life moments and why not document them..
