That’s what family life is to me.
And I love how Oregon family photographer Posy Quarterman phrases it:
Embracing the Chaos
Sometimes I pull up to my session and the little girls anticipating my arrival are jumping up and down barefoot on the wet porch shouting “POSY! POSY! POSY!” and I think, dang, I am lucky! But sometimes it also just happens that the baby is teething, the toddler wants pancakes not Posy, the only messy room in the house has the best light coming in, and the rain is coming down in droves outside. What can I do but just roll with the chaos and make the most of it? Isn’t that what the parents of these four six-and-under children have to do every single day?!
Nothing went perfectly, and yet, I think the results of this session are beyond perfect, they’re REAL, and that’s always what I’m after first and foremost; the images capture the beauty of the chaos that is life while raising a family, and I couldn’t ask for anything more from a session.
Sometimes the best way to move through life is to just embrace the chaos. I love Posy’s outlook and images.
Have a favorite family photographer? I want to hear who that is!! I’m on the hunt for some amazing family photography.
