Being a newer mom myself, my baby is 17 months now, I thought I had babies all figured out.
I can make them laugh, I know what they love, etc.
Not baby Cal!
I tried all my usually tricks and this little dude would not budge; he gave me serious Zoolander face. Luckily, I captured the few laughs he did give us so his parents can have his cute smile captured on film.
Megan and Eric are past wedding clients of ours and we loved working with them on their wedding day. When we saw that they were expecting a baby we were secretly hoping they would reach to us for a shoot and they did!
For family shoots with small babies, I like to do them indoors since it’s always wet and muddy in Seattle. I wanted this session to be bright and clean and fresh, kind of like a new baby. It was a hot day so Cal totally preferred being naked to wearing his cute little outfits.
It was important to his mom that we capture all of his little baby rolls since they melt away so fast. I think the fact that he so sparingly gave out a smile made it so exciting when he laughed. I actually was off focus on a few frames because I would laugh too hard while shooting because his laugh was so contagious.
Babies make me giddy and being around them really give you serious baby fever! I can’t wait to see this little guy grow up and capture him and his family at different stages throughout life. It is one of the most magical parts of my job.
