Top 25 Family and Kid Pictures of 2013

And its our yearly Best Of round up.

These are judged (very subjectively) by me.

Simply the images over the year that stayed with me.

The ones I found myself obsessing over,

the ones that I may have tried to copy (oh, I mean that inspired me),

the ones that stayed in my head.

If you see any sort of theme here, it is amazing photography + joy + real life.

We are ramping up for the new year, with a whole lot of really good changes.

I’m really happy to announce that Let the Kids is teaming up with ClickinMoms and will be bigger and better and posting more often. (look for full sessions every Tuesday and Thursday and an amazing compilation post the first Monday of every month — all selected and written by me.. Im not going anywhere).

We are on the hunt for new amazing photographers and some really rad and unique sessions.   The extra nifty thing (besides the much expanded audience) is that any photographer featured on LTK is on Clickin Mom’s radar for a possible magazine feature.

What we look for:

We look for clean photography that is minimally processed. I have a love of film (obviously) but we welcome digital as well and my favorite is when the photography is so good, I cannot tell or care whether its film or digital.

We look for photographers with strong and unique voices. Lots of creativity, a bit of humor, and the ability to capture childhood in a honest and beautiful way.

Pretty pretty please leave a comment with your favorite family photographers name in it (so I can hunt them down!).

How to submit:

  1. Choose either a session to submit (say 10-20 images) or  single favorite image to submit for our monthly compilation post;
  2. Size the images to 600 pixels wide;
  3. No watermarks pretty please;
  4. Name your images with your website address (for example, wendylaurel.com-1);
  5. Email to submit@letthekids.com.
