Marta Locklear is known by her super pretty photography. The colors, the compositions.. it’s just always so pretty! So when she sent in this gorgeous newborn session, I was thrilled.
“Being commissioned by another photographer to capture one of the most special times of their lives is always an honor and humbling. I photographed Melissa’s first son, Will’s, newborn session, and now her second son, Robert. We were all scheduled for our session just after her December 26, 2013 C-section…only to be surprised that Robert decided to come a little early. The added surprise was a minor cleft lip. Melissa and her family have completely embraced Robert’s little lip and want to share with the world just how handsome he is, until he gets his repairs.
The thing that struck me the most about their story, was the way they announced him to the world. Melissa, like most of us photographers, has a large social media life. So, sharing Robert and his little lip, would have been challenging to many of us. Instead, she came up with this little post…and melted me on the spot.
‘Will would like to introduce everyone to his little brother Rob! He said Rob wanted to be born on Christmas Day so badly he got in a fight with a polar bear and hitched a ride on Santa’s sleigh! Rob says if you think I look rough you should see the polar bear.'”
Session was shot in the clients home.
